Looking to make a fishing craft I can leave at a local pond and not worry about someone stealing it. Was counting on a math wiz who could Tell me how much weight a 5ft by 10in sealed PVC pipe could hold afloat thanx

The outside diameter of 10″ Schedule PVC pipe is 10.75″ and weighs 0.755 pounds per foot. Sched.80 weighs 1.2 #/ft.

so a 5′ piece would displace (((10.75 / 2)^2) * Pi * 5) / 144 = 3.15147831 cubic feet (ignoring the caps) and would weigh either 3.775 or 6 pounds.
